Fabric Count Converter
Convert between Aida and Evenweave/Linen fabric counts to find equivalents that produce identical finished design sizes.
How Fabric Conversion Works
Aida is stitched "over 1 block" while Evenweave and Linen are stitched "over 2 threads". This means you need double the thread count in linen to match Aida's finished size:
Common Equivalents
- 11-count Aida = 22-count Linen
- 14-count Aida = 28-count Linen
- 16-count Aida = 32-count Linen
- 18-count Aida = 36-count Linen
- 20-count Aida = 40-count Linen
When to Use Linen Instead of Aida
Linen and Evenweave provide a softer, more elegant texture than Aida's structured blocks. Many stitchers prefer linen for heirloom pieces, samplers, and projects requiring a refined finish.
